Who gets listed
A company is listed if it sells cybersecurity products or services to businesses or governments today, under its own name. We do not list companies that have stopped trading, non-profits, open-source projects with no company behind them, or firms where security is a side line. A company is placed only in the categories it sells in, based on its own product and service pages.
Independence
No company can pay to be listed or to change how it is described. Featured listings are promoted placements. They are labelled Featured wherever they appear and are shown first. Everything else is ordered by the rules in the methodology.
How we use AI
An AI model drafts the short descriptions on profiles and on deals, from the company’s own website and from the reports each deal comes from. It also suggests categories. The data itself, such as owners, deals, funding rounds and revenue, comes from the sources named in the methodology, never from the model.
Fact-checking
Every profile shows when its facts were last checked and lists the pages we used. Ownership comes from acquisition announcements and filings. Revenue comes from annual reports. If we cannot confirm a fact, we leave it out.
Corrections
Anyone can report a mistake with the correction form on a profile. We check the report against a source and fix confirmed errors. Companies can claim their profile to add their own description, products and a contact. A claimed profile is still checked by an editor before changes go live.
